About

Games Emerge Conference is proud to feature the Game Impact Jam (GIJ). GIJ is a 2-day marathon game jam, where participants from all over Pakistan will take part in creating games to promote games for social impact. PixelArt Games Academy is happy to host and organize the Game Impact Jam 2017 at GEC’17 in collaboration with Code for Pakistan.

GIJ hopes to bring the game developers of Pakistan together to learn, share, and collaborate while making games in the 2 days of the game jam, and even beyond! Together with GEC’17, GIJ can open doors towards collaboration between the emerging game development communities of South Asia.

Game Jams are always a challenging hub of boosted creativity. With a given topic and limited time, participants are open to embracing the truly wide variety of games that can be made. This encourages creative thinking and innovations as participants rapidly prototype game designs. This year’s topic will be announced at the start of the game jam, and participants will have to create the topic within the prescribed time of 48 hours.

The best thing about game jams is that they’re open to nearly everyone, from professionals with development experience to those looking to jump into the industry. There are no requirements of experience, as long as you can cooperate and collaborate, you too can be a part of a game jam! It’s a great way to meet all kinds of people and friends, from programmers to artists, and designers.
